Mark Zuckerberg shared an update on Internet.org by Facebook‘s progress in India. He writes that everyone in India can now access “free internet services for health, education, jobs and communication through Internet.org‘s Free Basics app on the Reliance network.”
Zuckerberg also shares the story of a couple in Maharashtra who improved their farming methods using the app and were able to double their crop yield, vanish insect infestations, and invest in new crops and livestock.
Internet.org is currently working with Reliance network.
Originally only six states in the country had access to available services: Tamil Nadu, Mahararashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala, and Telangana.
