In these last months, Censor board of the film industry was widely criticised for its high handedness and moral policing with regards to the chopping of kissing scenes in the film Spectre. It is therefore highly surprising that Censor Board has passed films like Mastizaade and Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 which is filled with far more objectionable content that Spectre could even imagine.
The teaser of the two films shows juvenile comedy full of innuendos and penis jokes as well as titillating skin show. Even though it took a long time for Mastizaade to get CBFC’s nod along with an A certificate, it is surprising how the morality policing board gave a pass to films with such adult content.
The question here is not of morals, the choice of watching adult films must remain with the individual, the point is that what standards and guidelines are the Censor Board following in its judgements or whether it is just arbitrarily decided?
