New Delhi: Every youth above 18 years of age will get covid-19 vaccine in phase 3 from May 1. The government of india has made the above announcement on Monday evening after the prime minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with country’s top doctors.
The central government has decided to liberalises India’s vaccination strategy as the nation amidst a surging second wave of coronavirus. After this decision to liberalize and accelerate of Phase 3 strategy of COVID-19 vaccination, all adult would get vaccinated at their nearest vaccination center.

The government not only reduces the age for vaccination but also allowed states to get additional vaccine doses directly from the manufacturers.
Vaccine manufacturers can supply 50 per cent of their monthly Central Drugs Laboratory (CDL) released doses to the central government and after that they are free to supply the remaining 50% doses to state governments and in the open market.
The 50-50 division between government and non-government channels would be applicable on all vaccines manufactured with in the country. This 50-50 rule, however, will not apply on the imported vaccines. Manufacturers of imported vaccines are free to sell doses directly to states and private authority.
Manufacturers would have to make an advance declaration of prices for the 50 percent vaccines supplied to state governments and in open market, before May 1. Vaccines in government centres continued to be free of cost and for previous categories – health workers, frontline workers and those above 45.
