The Delhi government’s initiative of Diwali laser show, a four-day affair will begin from 26 th October to encourage eco-friendly Diwali on account of rising in air pollution during the festival.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, along with Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia announced the details of the laser show in a press conference held on Monday in the capital. He also announced the venue of the laser show, which will be Connaught Place.

The laser show is a part of “Community Diwali”. With the onset of Winters, the air quality of Delhi deteriorates. This initiative has been taken to reduce the aftermath of damage caused by burning huge amounts of firecrackers. The chief minister also announced that if the event is successful, the laser show would be organized in various locations at a bigger scale next year.

The show will be inaugurated by Delhi Lt. Governor. The show will be held between 6 pm to 10 pm and it also includes food court and arts and cultural events. “There will be no pass or tickets required. This will be open to all. People can come and enjoy the Community Diwali celebration anytime between 6 pm and 10 pm from October 26”- the Chief Minister said.
